Library sync very slow, stops me from being able to copy publications to different folders

Kayleigh Jun 20, 2018 07:35PM BST

Hi,

I am currently using the Colwiz desktop app to try and manage references for a paper. This paper is being written collaboratively, so I would like to keep all the references in a shared folder. However, it is proving very difficult to put documents in the shared folder. There is no option in the desktop app to add publications to the shared folder itself (it says drag and drop publications here, but I don't know where I would drag them from...). I also tried uploading/adding publication to my own library using import and then copying them to the group folder, but that process is incredibly slow. It has been more than 5 minutes since I added a publication to my library, and I am still getting the error message "Library is syncing. Please add your publication to the Group in a few moments."

Another error that I am encountering is that dragging/dropping publications from my library to group folders seemingly has no effect. The publication doesn't move/copy and I don't get any error messages.

Colwiz has all of the functionality that I would like in a reference manager, but given these significant bugs I am very discouraged from using it. Please let me know if these can be resolved.

Thanks,

Kayleigh

Hi Kayleigh,

Thanks for your detailed email. Our development team has been busy investigating your issue and are working on an update for our desktop application. It should resolve syncing issues with the library and should speed up slow publication import.

Regards,
colwiz Team
