PDF of the reference not shared, why?

Vesselin Baev Oct 30, 2014 05:03PM GMT

When I have publications with their PDFs enclosed in my library and I share the publications to my group, the sharing is only for the reference data of the paper without the PDF?

Is there a way the collaborators have shared library with their PDFs? e.g. when someone add publications everyone in the group/collaborators can read the publications PDF?

You may share those PDFs with your group through the group’s shared drive. All of the group members will be able see, read and annotate it with you in the drive. Hope that helps.

Is there a reason why files cannot be attached to a publication in the shared library folder for a group, or is this a bug? It means that if I want to share an annotated PDF with the group there is no way to link it with an entry in the shared library.

The reason you cannot share PDFs directly from your library is not a bug, rather a design choice to ensure that legal access rights to scholarly articles are upheld.
